The impact of heat generated by LED on products
1: Luminous efficiency – As temperature rises, luminous efficiency decreases.
2: Wavelength – As temperature rises, wavelength drifts to longer wavelengths (red shift).
3: Correlated color temperature (CCT) – As temperature rises, the correlated color temperature of white light increases, and the correlated color temperature of other colors decreases.
4: Forward voltage – As temperature rises, forward voltage decreases.
5: Reverse current – As temperature rises, reverse current increases.
6: Thermal stress – As temperature rises, thermal stress increases.
7: Device life – As temperature rises, device life shortens.
8: If the LED package contains phosphors, epoxy resins, eccetera., the temperature rise will also cause the degradation of these materials.
